Auditions for Zombie Prom

The Rock Hill Community Theatre announces auditions for Zombie Prom.

Auditions will be held Saturday, February 20, 3-5 pm and Monday, February 22 7-9pm at The Community Performance Center, 249 E. Main Street, Rock Hill.

Prepare 16-32 bars of an up-tempo  musical theatre style or rock song; no a cappella singing, please. An accompanist will be provided. Please come prepared to dance. A short combination will be taught by the chorographer. Some maybe asked to read from the script.

Headshot and resume is appreciated but not required.  Rehearsals begin early March. All roles are available for adult and teen actors high school age and up.

Please bring a list of all and potential scheduling conflicts to auditions through the middle of May.

Zombie Prom is directed by Jack Stevenson; musical direction by Matthew Primm and chorography by Courtney Lavender.

This "girl loves ghoul", rock and roll, Off Broadway musical is set in the atomic 1950s at Enrico Fermi High, where the law is laid down by a zany, tyrannical principal. Pretty senior Toffee has fallen for the class bad boy. Family pressure forces her to end the romance, and he charges off on his motorcycle to the nuclear waste dump. He returns glowing and determined to reclaim Toffee's heart. He still wants to graduate, but most of all he wants to take Toffee to the prom. The principal orders him to drop dead while a scandal reporter seizes on him as the freak du jour. History comes to his rescue while a tuneful selection of original songs in the style of 50s hits keeps the action rocking across the stage.

For more information regarding auditions and Zombie Prom, please e-mail Jack Stevenson at http://us.mc1112.mail.yahoo.com/mc/compose?to=jstevenson328@gmail.com
