Position Overview   
The Hispanic Contractors Association of the Carolinas (HCAC)  
is looking for a full time Executive Director who reports directly to the Board
of Directors, working specifically with the Executive Committee to set agendas 
and priorities for board approval. Broadly, the Executive Director is responsible 
for day-to-day operations of the organization. Major responsibilities include 
implementing the strategic direction of the board, development of the 
organization's infrastructure and operational policies, management of budget 
and financial policies, growth of memberships and sponsorships and program 
development. The position is based in the Charlotte, NC area.
Duties and Responsibilities  -  Retain and strengthen the organization focus 
of the HCAC mission, which is to promote the common business interests of the 
industry, by serving as an education, information and research 
resource for the public and members.  Development of the organization’s 
Infrastructure and operational policies.  Provide leadership and 
supervision for the staff.  Program design, implementation and 
Administration.  Work with treasurer and finance committee to develop 
and oversee annual budgets.  Development of strategic and tactical plans
Develop and strengthen strategic alliances within the construction 
industry.  Develop and manage marketing and communication strategies to 
secure media coverage.  Manage conference program development.  Serve as 
the public face of the organization to both members and the community at 
large.  Lead long range planning and visioning in partnership with Board 
of Directors and staff.  Grow and maintain membership base by 
facilitating development initiatives and delivering value added services
Other related duties as assigned or necessary for effective functioning 
of the organization.   
Skill Sets
Fluency in English and Spanish
Ability to work independently
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
Self directed and intrinsically motivated.
Outstanding communication skills: public speaking, writing, and interpersonal
Understanding of general accounting and financial procedures
Knowledge of computer s/w M/S Office Suite, ACT, QuickBooks, Paintshop, 
Working knowledge of human resource systems, including staff development
Broad knowledge of and experience in the nonprofit trade association sector
Knowledge of construction industry and general construction practices helpful
Knowledge of Non-Profit program development and fundraising
Credentials and Experience
 3 years of experience in non-profit program development.
Proven record of management success and ability to build and lead a growing 
Demonstrated passion for and commitment to the construction industry and 
the Hispanic community
Fiscal policy management experience
Record of successful fundraising for nonprofit organization
Bachelor's degree in related field
Special Requirements
Travel to industry shows and conferences required
Job may include weekend and evening hours as required to meet objectives
